Construction of the $5.5 million “parallel pipeline,” a 1.3 mile, 36”-diameter underground pipeline that will help deliver recycled water to the Monterey Peninsula – and desal water in the future -- began earlier this month on General Jim Moore Boulevard in Seaside. California American Water crews have been hard at work, potholing to check underground conditions and preparing 7,000 lineal feet of 36” diameter pipeline that will be laid in a 6-foot open trench, being dug section by section in the northbound lanes of General Jim Moore Boulevard.
